General Principles

At the end of this course participants will become familiar with or sharpen different de-escalation techniques used in clinical settings and fieldwork. They will learn the overview, the general principles, and the do’s and don’ts of de-escalation. Attendees will take part of a discussion about maintaining equilibrium between being a trauma-informed practitioner and personal/professional safety. Clinicians will learn tools readily available to use in their daily practice. 

Case scenario and Overall process

With the second part of this course, clinicians will have the opportunities to use case scenarios and role-play to practice and incorporate evidence based de-escalation techniques. They will leave this course with practical tools for everyday use.
